In Budapest, you don’t really understand the word “RUIN PUBS” until you visit them. This all started after the World War II aftermath. The Jewish quarters of City were destroyed and left abandoned. So, this was perfect place adapt an Underground Pub. They are normal and silent pubs from outside, but there’s a whole lot of party happening inside. The walls are half broken, small steps lead to a new dance floor and feel like you are in a
bunker. These places are not fixed and still hold the vibe of demolition and battle.

  1. Instant and Fogasház
  2. Szimpla Kert.
  3. Mazel Tov

Szimpla Kert is one of the original and oldest ruin bar in the city.
They have rooftop bars and open dance floors. This is an abandoned factory turned into electric and funky dance floors.

Instant and Fogasház are two different bars. but when i visited they have same entrance. Instant is a huge apartment with almost 20 rooms to hang out with 4 dance floors. Fogasház is a low-key bar with Minecraft art hanged with a statue above the DJ. Fogasház feels more artistic than other bars.Each dance floor playing different music like EDM, Pop/Hip-hop , Metal/Rock and Electric.

Mazel Tov by the name itself is Jewish quarter serving traditional Jewish Cuisine by day and dance the floor at night with live performances.
Table have to be booked in advance for trendy Dinner.

Gellért Baths is another old baths which feels like a cathedral.

Széchenyi Baths has the hottest water in the city with temperature of 76C.
This is helpful for joint pains, disorder of nervous system and blood circulation. Most of the hostel provide free passes to skip the queue for the Baths.

CAVEWALKS

Budapest is the only city with natural caves in the middle of city. These hydrothermal caves were created by city own thermal springs. There are 9 protected caves around but only 3 are public accessible to visit.

  1. Várbarlang (Castle Cave)
    There is a whole Alice in the Wonderland experience under the Buda Castle to discover. Where part of it was naturally made but other was adapted as labyrinths to protect during wars.

  2. Pálvölgyi Cave
    The most beautiful and longest cave in Budapest streching upto 29km.
    The dripstone formations like “BeeHive” keep you going but only 500m can be explored by guide. Temparature goes around 8-10C
  3. Szemlőhegyi Cave
    This cave is currently explored 2200m and one of most valuable natural treasures of Budapest. You are allowed to hike up to 250m on sidewalks and stairs. The cold and damp air in the caves helps with respiratory diseases. The temperature is around 12C around the year. The guided tour lasts up to 40min.
